Mahtab Rashid grew up in Dhaka, where stories from the streets and people found their way onto his sketchpad. Over more than a decade, he has brought characters to life through publications like Prothom Alo, Kishor Alo, Ikrimikri, and many others. He is currently the Staff Cartoonist at The Business Standard and the Executive Editor of Boom Comics, the newspaper’s weekly comics magazine. Mahtab is also part of the editorial team behind the acclaimed Protibastob comic anthologies published by Dhaka Comics. His first graphic novel, Otolanto, was released at the 2021 Ekushey Book Fair. His creative practice spans comics, graphic novels, paintings, short stories, and short films, often exploring themes of urban life, folklore, magical realism, and science fiction.
